This is a custom piece by Aaron Sertich. It is all handblown glass sculpture masterfully replicating a resilient shore pine wind swept tree that iconically hang to a basalt island in Siletz Bay Oregon featuring intricate green "foliage" clusters and a fluid, earth-toned trunk that appears to grow directly from a base of bay-worn stone. This is a masterclass piece of glass blowing. And would make for a prized focal point for any home or private collection.
Artist Statement: This piece is created using the combined skills of 3 craftsman working in perfect unison to bring forward the piece you see before you today. It represents a beautiful rocky outcropping with one lone windswept shore pine clinging to its cracked rocky surface. I drive by this spot almost every day, and figured it was about time to make a special piece of glass recreating this beautiful spot in our Siletz bay. I hope you enjoy.
